QuiltPlan is a quilt-design app for iPhone. We collect as little as we can, we don't
sell your data or use it for advertising, and we don't share it with anyone except the
service that runs our backend. This page explains what we keep, why, and how to remove it.
QuiltPlan is currently in a limited testing release. If you're helping us test, thank you —
the data below helps us fix problems and learn which features are useful before a wider launch.
What we collect
- Your email address — only if you create an account. We sign you in with a
one-time code emailed to you (no passwords). We use your email to keep your account and to
contact you about testing.
- The quilts, blocks, and colorways you save — when you're signed in, the
designs and palettes you save are stored in your account so they're backed up and can sync
across your devices. A pattern you make from a photo includes the color/shape data we derived
from that photo.
- How you use the app — which features you open and use (for example, "converted a
photo," "saved a quilt"), as simple counts and labels. This is anonymous product-usage data —
it never includes your photos, names, or anything you typed.
- Crash and error reports — if something goes wrong, we record technical details
(an error message and where it happened) so we can fix it.
- Basic technical info — your app version and device type/OS version, attached to
the usage and error data above so we can reproduce issues.
Your photos stay on your phone
When you turn a photo into a pattern, the image is processed entirely on your device.
We do not upload your original photos. (If you later save that pattern while signed in,
the finished design — which includes the colors and shapes we detected — is stored in your account,
as described above.)
How we use your information
- To provide the app and sync your saved work across your devices.
- To understand which features are helpful and improve the app.
- To find and fix bugs and crashes.
- To contact you about the test program if you've given us your email.
We do not use your data for advertising, we do not sell or rent it,
and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
Who we share it with
Your account, saved designs, usage data, and error reports are stored using
Supabase, the hosting and database service that runs our backend, which processes
this data on our behalf. The one-time sign-in codes are delivered by our email provider. We don't
share your information with advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else.
How it's kept
Data is stored in our private Supabase project and transmitted over encrypted connections. Your saved
designs live in a private storage area tied to your account. We keep your information while you use
QuiltPlan, and delete it when you ask us to (or within a reasonable period after the test program ends).
Your choices
- You can use most of the app without an account; a lot works offline on your device.
- You can ask us to see, correct, or delete your account and its data at any time —
just email us and we'll take care of it.
Children
QuiltPlan isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
